Features

KUHN Vari-Width System

Available exclusively from KUHN, the variable width mechanism is enclosed inside the plow beam. All linkages and pivot points are in this way protected from damage and wear caused by impact, dirt and corrosion.

Non-Stop Hydraulic (NSH) Automatic Reset System

The Non-Stop Hydraulic automatic reset system allows 23” of vertical and 8” of side-to-side travel, easy adjustment of trip force, and long life with little wear.

Hydraulic Steering

The rear wheel is steered by a hydraulic cylinder slaved to a headstock mounted master cylinder. Complete and precise steering control is achieved with a minimum of wearing parts for a long and trouble free service life. A pair of large capacity accumulators cushions shock loads on the steering system allowing you to even back over dead furrows without worry.

Depth and Steering Control

In the work position, the wheel works “on land” for optimal performance and minimum soil compaction. The wheel is situated on the end for the best possible weight distribution and increased traction at the tractor wheels. In the transport position, the width is limited to an easy to manage 8’2”. The rear wheel is steered hydraulically by the headstock to follow the tractor easily through the field.

Disc Coulters

Fitted with non-stop reset protection for the Vari-Lander, the disc coulters are available in plain or notched form. The discs ensure a clean cut in front of the plow bottom giving a clean furrow wall and improving the trash incorporation of the moldboard. The discs are adjustable in two dimensions: height and side to side.

Triplex Steel

Moldboards are made of unequal layer, heat-treated Triplex steel that have an increased working life up to 40% over standard steel and a hard wearing surface over 1/8” thick.

3-Point Headstock and Frame

The heavy-duty cross-shaft manufactured from heat treated steel is fully supported in the headstock assembly to withstand even the most extreme working conditions.

H4 Moldboard

The H4, helicoidal, Scandinavian-type moldboard provides well-formed plowing to a normal depth range of 7-12”. The share is fitted with a reversible/replaceable point that greatly increases the life of the share. Recommended for fall plowing, the H4 moldboard is especially suited for heavy and damp clays. Furrow passes are well defined and trash burial is excellent. 

N Moldboard

The helico-cylindrical semi-digger N moldboard plows to a depth of 14”. Designed to be highly versatile, it is cylindrical at front, helicoidal at rear. A low draft ensures a partly broken furrow with excellent trash burial. Recommended for spring plowing, this moldboard is versatile and works well in sandy or clay soils.

Olympic® Share Points

Reversible for maximum efficiency. More pronounced form at wearing zones on the point for longer life and better protection of the landside. Point is self-sharpening for good ground penetration at all times.
