The new hood is more than 5" lower than the previous model (M5N-091/111), providing
enhanced visibility, without changing the wheelbase.
The M5Ns have the Kubota V3800 engine which has a common rail fuel system, intercooler, exhaust gas recirculation and employs a diesel particulate filter and a selective catalytic reduction for minimized emissions. Additionally, it has an increased alternator capacity (100A), large radiator, large diameter cooling fan and RPM memory for repetitious actions.

High productivity requires versatility, such as traveling at low or sustained speeds. This tractor's transmission has 12F x 12R speed, with six speeds in two ranges. An optional High/Low allows for a 24F x 24R. The shuttle shift is electric over hydraulic making direction changes a breeze. The 540/540E PTO is standard, as is the over drive feature for improved travel speed. All models have wet disc hydraulic brakes and gear lock parking.
